Cinderella sat in the fireplace dreaming of a better life. If you remember the musical by Rodgers and Hammerstein, she sang the song, “In my own little corner, in my own little chair…”. She speaks of a better life and escaping from her situation. The last part of the song says that she is on a safari but she forgot to bring her gun. Then she comes back to reality realizing that she is safe in her own little corner: “all alone, in my own little chair. “

Many of us are sitting in the ashes. We have been there so long that we are uncomfortable anywhere else. The problem is, when we stay in mourning and in the ashes too long, we end up, many times like Cinderella: “All alone, in my own little chair.”
